Staff Registered Nurse-WHCH

The Staff Registered Nurse position is full-time onsite, position located at Worcester Health Care for the Homeless (WHCH), which provides trauma-informed medical and behavioral health services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The goal is to create a welcoming, empowering, and dignified medical home for those we serve. Our team-based approach provides care at the clinic located at 199 Chandler Street as well as various outreach clinics within the City of Worcester. In addition to medical and behavioral health services, patients can access case management, recovery coaches, and Office Based Assisted Treatment (OBAT) for substance-use disorder.

The Staff Registered Nurse Staff provides direct and indirect nursing care for the adult, homeless population. The Staff Registered Nurse will participate in all aspects of care to patients including triage, health maintenance teaching, and administration of vaccines / medication. The Staff Registered Nurse will also collaborate and communicate with other nursing professionals, medical assistants, and medical providers to ensure high quality patient care. The Staff Registered Nurse will provide support to medical providers, as needed in the management of prescriptions and controlled substance prescriptions.

Educational Requirements :

Graduate of accredited school of nursing required; AS or BS in nursing preferred.

Experience Required :

Two years full time professional experience or part time equivalent

Professional Licensure / Special Skills And Certification Required :

Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Massachusetts State Board of Registration. BLS required.

Reporting Relationship :

Reports directly to the Lead Team Nurse at Worcester Health Care for the Homeless
