Position Summary :
Under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) helps residents regain and maintain their ability to perform daily living and work activities. You will assist with implementing therapeutic programs, documenting progress, and encouraging residents to achieve their highest level of independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Carry out treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist (OT).
Assist residents in improving or restoring activities of daily living (ADLs).
Monitor and record residents’ progress during therapy sessions.
Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
Communicate clearly with the therapy team, nursing staff, residents, and families.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
Comply with infection control and safety procedures.
Educate residents and families on adaptive equipment and techniques.
Support a positive and encouraging rehabilitation environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Valid Washington State license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric setting preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to resident-centered care and teamwork.
Schedule : Full-Time
Flexible scheduling with potential weekend and holiday rotation
Day shifts primarily, with options for alternate hours based on department needs
