Job Description

The purpose of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position is to ensure all the data entry, scheduling updates, and shipping documents are processed accurately within the Shipping & Receiving areas to support daily warehouse or distribution center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all data entry, scheduling updates and shipping documents are processed accurately to support daily warehouse operations.
  • First line of communication between customer and company
  • Prioritize and process both Inbound and Outbound paperwork and BOLs (Bill of Lading)
  • Assist in maintaining consistent flow of freight for timely outbound / inbound processing
  • Maintain audit integrity in accordance with physical contents for all freight received
  • Assist in the movement of freight when needed and as directed for outbound / inbound processing
  • Aid Inventory Control to complete monthly cycle counts and update system accordingly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • ⁠Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office Software
  • Knowledge or ability to learn other computer programs as needed (SAP, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), etc.)
  • Ability to work in a clean and organized manner
  • Ability to multi-task
