Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY :

The House Supervisor supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit. Care is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health System. The House Supervisor prescribes; coordinates and delegates care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The House Supervisor is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults and dually diagnosed patients.

Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or MSN preferred.

Experience : 3 years prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred, prior experience working with specific patient population and prior charge nurse experience preferred.

Licensure / Certification : Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge : Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR training preferred.

Supervision Received : Director of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer

Supervision Exercised : Lead Community Counselor, Community Counselor, LPN, RN, Charge RN
