About the Role

Join Applied Materials as an Automation Mechanical Engineer and help shape the future of advanced this newly created role youll design and implement cutting-edge automation solutionsfrom collaborative robotics to intelligent inspection systemsthat drive efficiency and scalability in our spares manufacturing operations.

Based in Austin TX youll work in a dynamic environment that blends hands-on lab work with real-world production challenges. Youll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver scalable automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and throughput.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Create and configure collaborative robot (Cobot) solutions for assembly disassembly and inspection of complex modules (e.g. CMP heads vacuum robots RF Matches Electrostatic chucks).
• Customize robotic arm setups and end-of-arm tooling for diverse applications.
• Design and develop scalable reliable and maintainable software solutions

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.

For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
