CNA - Homecare

Hourly pay $20 - $24 / per hour

The Certified Nursing Assistant / Personal Care Assistant is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patients' needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant / Patient Care Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following :
• Bathing (sponge bath, shower, tub, shampoo)
• Back rubs
• Grooming (nail filing, hair care, oral hygiene)
• Changing bed linen
• Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
• Skin care to prevent breakdown
• Assisting the patient with toileting activities
• Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals
• Assists in feeding the patient, if necessary
• Takes and records oral and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed / demonstrated skills competency)
• Assists with mobility, positioning, transfers, and using transfer / mobility devices as applicable, according to the plan if care
• Assists with active and passive range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed / demonstrated skills competency
• Assists patient in the self-administration of medication
• Does patient's laundry, as appropriate
• Meets safety needs of patients, including proper use of equipment (foot stools, side rails, etc.), maintains compliance with Maxim Falls Prevention program, Infection Control program, and patient-specific Emergency Management plan as applicable
• Reports patient's condition and significant changes to the supervising Registered Nurse
• Adherence to Maxim's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
• Other duties as assigned
