Dietary Aide

Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, a 153 bed skilled nursing facility, located in Hamden, CT, is looking for a Dietary Aides to join our team.

Job duties :

1.  Assumes responsibility for the proper performance of dietary duties as assigned by the dietary supervisor in order to meet the daily nutritional needs of the residents.

2.  Cooperates with the cook and food service supervisor to ensure maintenance of proper food handling techniques.

3.  Assists the Food Service Supervisor to provide optimal achievable quality resident care.

4.  Assumes responsibility for supporting and assisting the Food Service Supervisor in promoting and maintaining positive employee relations and effective and positive communications, both upward and downward within the dietary department and a productive, efficient and caring dietary staff.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Has the ability to read and write with comprehension, and is able to follow instructions.

Has previous food service experience, as preferred.

Has the ability to work under supervision and get along with residents, co-workers, and other in the performance of duties.

Has the ability to observe proper sanitary techniques.

Has the ability to demonstrate appropriate dress and grooming care as required.

Is a certified food handler, as preferred.

Works hours as needed by the requirements of the position / assignment.
