The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Development Engineering Manager to join the E-7 Software Development team located in Tukwila WA . This position will focus on supporting the Mobility Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) division within the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

This position will manage one or more teams of software engineers that are responsible for software development activities of the mission systems software used on or with the E-7A addition to production software this management position may include oversight of research and development as well as internal applications development programs that are relevant to the platform.

Position Responsibilities :

Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering

Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes

Manages develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

5 years of experience in software engineering

2 years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities

Experience with software architecture and software implementation

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science

A strong influential leadership style that moves people to act motivates and inspires excellence and innovation

Ability to proactively and quickly make sense of complex issues

Gains the trust of others by demonstrating openness and honesty behaving consistently and acting in accordance with moral ethical professional and organizational guidelines

Experience with mentoring coaching and growing software engineering teams

Knowledge of and experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environments
