Job Description
The Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of the sport, including coaching, practice organization, game preparation, recruiting, and team administration, while adhering to NCAA and university rules. Key responsibilities include skill instruction, player development, scouting, managing paperwork, coordinating team travel, assisting with fundraising, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress. This is a full-time or part-time role requiring flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and a strong understanding of the sport, NCAA rules, and effective communication skills. This Position will focus on development of Face Off Players and Goalie players. They will also have in game responsibilities of running the substitution box. Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.
- Technical Knowledge : Strong knowledge of the sport’s rules, strategies, and technologies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are needed.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends.
- The ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, staff, and faculty.
- Familiarity with software used for recruiting, scouting, and team management.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is essential and may include specific division 1 rules.Unique insight and knowledge in coaching the Lacrosse specialty positions for the Face Off and Goalie.An understanding of the operation of the substitution Box in Men’s Lacrosse.Responsibilities Coaching and Player Development :
Instructing student-athletes on technical skills, tactical strategies, and physical conditioning.Providing one-on-one feedback and evaluating player performance.Fostering a positive team environment and promoting good sportsmanship.Practice and Game Preparation :
Assisting the head coach in organizing and planning daily practice sessions and game preparations.Coordinating coaching tactics and strategies for assigned positions.Recruiting and Team Administration :
Recruiting prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and university policies.Managing administrative tasks, including paperwork related to recruiting and equipment inventory.Assisting with team scheduling and travel arrangements.Student-Athlete Support :
Providing general academic and personal advising, mentoring, and support.Monitoring and supporting the academic progress of student-athletes.Compliance and Fundraising :
