Position Summary

The Service Shop Porter plays a key support role within the dealerships Service Department. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness organization and flow of the service shop while assisting technicians and service advisors with vehicle movement and general operational needs. The ideal candidate is dependable safety-focused and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Movement & Support

Safely move customer vehicles to and from service lanes technician bays parking areas and the wash bay.

Deliver completed vehicles to the appropriate pickup area.

Assist technicians with vehicle placement and retrieval to maintain efficient workflow.

Shop Maintenance & Cleanliness

Keep service bays shop floors and common work areas clean organized and free of hazards.

Empty trash sweep mop and perform routine facility upkeep.

Ensure shop tools and equipment are returned to proper storage areas.

Customer & Staff Assistance

Greet customers in a professional and courteous manner when assisting with vehicle intake.

Assist service advisors or management with any requested support tasks.

Help maintain a clean and organized customer drop-off / pick-up area.

Vehicle Care

Perform basic vehicle cleaning such as vacuuming and exterior wash.

Check fuel levels battery level for EVs (if applicable) and report any concerns.

Ensure vehicles are handled responsibly and protected from damage.

Safety & Compliance

Follow all dealership safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Report any spills hazards or equipment issues immediately.

Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to company driving standards.

Qualifications

Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required. Must have a clean driving record.

Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions preferred.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Ability to stand walk and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.

Reliable punctual and able to work in varying weather conditions. Attendance and punctuality are mandatory.

Previous experience in an automotive service environment is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Fast-paced service shop with exposure to noise chemicals and outdoor weather.

Frequent movement in and out of vehicles and walking across the dealership lot.
