Intake Coordinator

Shift / Days : M-F 8 : 30am to 5 : 30pm (There is the possibility of a rotating Saturday shift, about once a month)

General Summary

Amerita's Intake Coordinator will be responsible for working in coordination with the sales and pharmacy teams to process referrals and admissions in a timely manner. Intake Coordinators must gather necessary patient information to create patient records and work with access operations to communicate insurance coverage to patient and referral sources. The intake coordinators are often the first point of contact for patient and referral sources and must create and maintain a positive, calm, and supportive atmosphere; emphasizing personal interest and compassion for our patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating referrals received from referral sources

Ensure that all required documentation has been received to process the referral timely

Enters patient demographic, clinical and insurance information into the computer system.

Ensure that insurance verification is completed and patient has accepted financial responsibility prior to initial shipment.

Coordinates with other departments including Sales, Access and clinical staff regarding the status of the referrals and any authorization requirements and out-of-pocket cost required to be collected before delivery.

Completes documentation of progress notes in computer system

Notifies patients / caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilities.

Maintains confidentiality of patients and proprietary information.

• Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00 / hr.
