Main Duties & Responsibilities

PrincipalResponsibilities :

Inthis position you must be able to align and fit together fabricated plates,structural shapes and weldments preparatory

toassembly - structural fabricated products and must be able to weld differentmetals to blue print.

Duties :

Individualmust maintain their certification stamps

Mustbe able to weld all materials to X-Ray specifications

Mustpossess the ability to work to close tolerances

Mustbe able to work to standards within operations and have the ability to makeshop aids to increase production standard,

ifneeded

Mustbe able to build ducts without supervisor's assistance

Mustbe capable of training other employees

Mustbe responsible for quality of workmanship

Mustbe able and willing to perform all duties of lesser classifications in both thewelding and fitting disciplines

Prepareand fit both compound and complex duct assemblies

Cleanswork area, machines, tools, and equipment.

Performsother routine duties

Mustbe certified in accordance with 10QP040

RecordSPC data in accordance with 10QP063

Andother duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Experience :

3year exposure in metal fitting as a Fitter "A" and necessary training toqualify for welding parameters and or 3 years experience as a Welder withfitter training. Must past a written andpractical test. Test will be based on requirements contained within this jobdescription.

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities :

Abilityto read and interpret documents in English, such as Blueprints, manufacturingplanning, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and proceduremanuals.

Ability to write routinereports and correspondence.

Ability to communicate in theEnglish language.

Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions and decimals.

Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagramform. Certification stamps in bothwelding and fitting a must.

Essential Physical / Mental Abilities Required :

Employeeis regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, required to walk andsit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talkor hear, and climb and dismount both stairs and platforms. The employee must regularly lift and / or moveup to 50 pounds. Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjustfocus.

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the individual occasionally works nearmoving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually moderate.

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the individual may be required to wearsafety protection gear.

The pay range for this position is from$23.00 to $39.00 (hourly).
