job_description.job_card.job_descriptionDevelops and implements school consolidated plan resulting in measurable improvement in student performance results. Prepares for and conducts regular faculty meetings on pertinent school problems and improvement of instruction. Directs completion of Kentucky Department of Education Professional Staff Data Forms and associated instructional reports. Directs and supervises all instructional personnel assigned to the school building certified and classified. Coordinates and communicates with the school parent-teacher association and other parent or volunteer groups. Administers reasonable punishment for student disorder or other violation of rules including suspension of students subject to applicable Board policies. Supervises and directs the cafeteria manager and the operation of the cafeteria including all financial accounting and reporting requirements. Gives final approval of the scheduling of extra-curricular events. Supervises the keeping of all internal accounts school enterprises and activities promote school exhibits and annually directs preparation of a comprehensive annual school budget for the Superintendents consideration. Confers with the Superintendent and / or Administrative Director for personnel concerning recommendation of employees for employment or re-employment each school year. Assigns curricular extra-curricular and other duties to all employees within his / her supervision. Formally evaluates all certified staff and reviews all classified staff evaluations pursuant to Board policy. Develops an annual program of public relations in order that the community may understand and support the educational program; develops and publicizes rules and regulations for the conduct of and restrictions on visitors to the building. Provides oversight supervision of the athletic program to ensure that it operates within the rules and regulations of the Board and the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. Notifies parents as soon as possible in the event of illness accident or injury to a student; summoning emergency medical service and / or local or state police. Coordinates teacher professional development and assures that staff development is conducted pursuant to Board policy. Prepares annual needs assessment for submission to the Superintendent based on Board and school goals. Directs annual review of the teacher handbook and coordinates review of the school curricular guide. Maintains confidentiality of students and / or staff. Performs such other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid Secondary Kentucky Certificate in High School Administration.
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience M / S or H / S preferred
- Demonstrates knowledge of current curriculum and instructional trends and techniques.
REPORTS TO : Superintendent
JOB GOALS : The Principal under the supervision of the Superintendent has immediate charge and direction of the school. The Principal will regularly observe the work of teachers advise and inform teachers concerning the student learning level expected. The Principal will spend at lest 50 percent of his / her time in supervision of the instructional program in his / her respective school. The Principal may delegate duty and authority to his / her various assistants but retains responsibility to the Superintendent for results produced. To support the Mission Statement of the Estill County School System.
