Environmental Technician

POSITION SUMMARY : The Environmental Technician is an entry level position that reports to the EHS Manager and assists with the administration of Aspire MRO's environmental & hazardous waste procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the collection, identification and proper handling of hazardous waste materials.
• Packages and transport hazardous / universal waste materials around the facility with the forklift and other tools provided according to applicable environmental regulations.
• Performs routine audits to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and procedures.
• Package and label hazardous waste containers according to regulations.
• Manage waste storage areas for regulatory compliance.
• Visually inspecting and identifying hazardous waste materials on-site.
• Responding to hazardous waste spills or leaks by containing the spill and initiating cleanup procedures.
• Under the direct guidance from the EHS Manager, assist to ensure the site's environmental regulatory compliance.
• Could require standing for long periods or walking long distances throughout facility on daily basis.
• May require the ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Act as backup for Safety Specialist when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
