Internship Opportunity With The Michigan Department of Transportation

This is a contracted appointment that may last up to two years in duration. Paid internships occur throughout the State of Michigan. This position works with the Recruitment Section staff for direct recruiting and follow up with candidates for positions throughout the department. This involves emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings and limited local and in-state travel. Assists the Office of Organizational Development analyst and technician with inventory and shipping of promotional items used at recruitment events and other duties assigned. Assists with job posting sites, attending events in person and virtually. Manages and distributes Recruitment Mailbox. Assists team members with projects, recruitment metrics and spreadsheets, and attends recruitment strategy meetings.

Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Veteran employment opportunities with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) are made possible through funding provided by the Federal Highway Administration. This program is intended to meet the employment needs of honorably discharged veterans of the United States Armed Forces as they transition into the civilian workforce. MDOT is partnering with nationwide service-related organizations to fill needed positions for our veterans.

To be considered for this position you must :

• Be an honorably discharged veteran.
• Attach a copy of your DD-214 to your application. This document is required in order to serve in the internship program.
