Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Advanced Software Engineer with Android expertise to join our team in Fort Mill, SC or Pittsburgh, PA. You will be designing and developing Android based features for a cross-platform cutting-edge voice-driven workflow product. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring Android-oriented features for enterprise hardware. This is an opportunity to influence the design and evolution of a platform at the forefront of warehouse optimization with a primary focus on Android-based user experiences.

This position may require occasional travel (domestic & international) as well as being contacted off hours and weekends. A passport will be required. Customer interaction or equivalent experience

Key Responsibilities :

Review / Understand Android-based issues and upcoming feature / update support and work with stakeholders to plan and make updates within product line.

Supporting cross-platform mobile product development.

Exercising expertise with enterprise SDKs.

Adapting your expertise to optimizing .NET MAUI.

Understand, estimate, review, and resolve software / build / field / internal requests.

Work with internal leadership, project management, and offering teams to estimate and plan product updates and feature requests.

Design, develop and work with internal and external teams on creation and deployment of new features.

Convey results of design investigations to stakeholders to help drive future product direction.

YOU MUST HAVE

7+ years of Android software development

Interest in learning .NET MAUI (required for role)

4+ years of object-oriented development experience

4+ years of advanced software development experience with Java, C#, or comparable

WE VALUE

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science

Low-level Android SDK experience using industry-standard warehouse / commercial-grade Android mobile de-vices (i.e. Honeywell, etc.).

Low-level Android NDK experience writing native code.

Android test automation experience.

Ability to identify inclusion of cost-effective technologies.

Understanding of how Android OS works (as opposed to the Android SDK).

Experience with Google Play, Enterprise Google Play and industry-standard Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools.

Knowledge of test-driven development (using xUnit or NUnit) and Mocking frameworks (e.g. Moq, FakeItEasy, Mockito, MockK)

Experience in developing applications using various development tools / systems (e.g. Git, C++, C#, .NET, experience with MAUI a plus)

Ability to support full software lifecycle activities including supporting / addressing customer and field escala-tions, troubleshooting, and patch releases.

Experience with Honeywell Voice-based products or related technologies.

Supply chain experience.

Practical knowledge and use of development IDEs (e.g. Android Studio, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code) and source code tools (e.g. GIT, SVN) and static code analysis tools (e.g.SonarQube, PVS Studio)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with Continuous Software Delivery and Deployment

Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tools / practices (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions)

Experience with source control and bug tracking tools (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket, Jira)

Experience with data analytics and / or machine learning tools.

Experience executing Agile software methodology

Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.

Can quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts

Experience with managing build processes

Ability to lead others and own / champion product direction
