Location : Buffalo, NY (with the flexibility to work from home one day a week)

Compensation : $90,000 - $95,000 annually, plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Mortgage Loan Originator to join our dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. This exciting opportunity focuses on the critical task of reviewing and re-underwriting previously closed mortgage loans to ensure they adhere to the latest guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct thorough re-underwriting of mortgage loans to ensure compliance with established guidelines and secondary market requirements.
  • Analyze income, credit, and property documentation with precision.
  • Perform due diligence on representation and warranty reviews to uphold high standards.
  • Review and evaluate collateral, title reports, and fraud detection results.
  • Stay informed on industry regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting standards.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with at least 3 years dedicated to underwriting.
  • In-depth understanding of residential mortgage products, including Conventional, Non-Conventional, QM and Non-QM, Jumbo, DSCR, FHA / VA, and Business Purpose loans.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements within the industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting tools such as DU and LPA.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, open-minded, and capable of bringing innovative ideas to improve processes.
  • Leadership potential with the willingness to learn company procedures and supervise others once fully trained.
