- Here's what we are looking for :
- A Colorado State Registered Veterinary Technician license holder
- Have at least one year of veterinary emergency or ICU experience
- Are proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- What you'll do :
- Perform treatments on hospitalized patients including the administration of medications by various routes
- Obtain vitals, blood pressure, ECG, and other monitoring parameters
- Monitor hydration status, administering CRI's, setting up IV fluids with multiple lines, etc.
- Use phlebotomy skills and have a basic knowledge of hematology and "normals"
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
- Use your knowledge of anesthetic drugs, protocols, and anesthesia monitoring to care for patients before, during, and after surgeries
- Communicate with clients
- Provide client education including, but not limited to : home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Fill prescription medications
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters, central lines, and PICC lines
- Carry out transfusion therapy including blood typing and cross matching
- Care for and maintain feeding tubes
- Place male and female urinary catheters
- Place nasal O2 line
- Prepare patients for ultrasound and CT scans, including gathering history
- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and communicate additional information as necessary
- Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
