NSC Staffing is seeking Structural Welders with 2-5 years of experience for an exciting project in Norfolk, VA. Position Overview : As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for welding various metals on ships or in shops, supporting mechanical repairs, and leading assigned helpers. Candidates must pass the Structural Weld test (Stick and Flux Core) and know welding techniques, ship repair terminology, and ship compartment naming conventions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Pass the Structural Weld Test (Stick and Flux Core) and work on welding pipes of various metals.
• Perform welding for ship repair and modernization projects on marine vessels, including military and commercial ships.
• Provide guidance to assigned helpers during welding tasks.
• Write Condition Reports , including detailed findings and recommended corrective actions.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and Navy / MSC / ABS standards.
• Safely operate and maintain welding equipment, portable power tools, and hand tools.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and wear proper PPE, including hard hats, respirators, safety harnesses, and flotation gear as required.

Qualifications & Experience :

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)

Work Environment : You will work in shipyards, aboard vessels, or industrial settings where attention to detail, quality work, and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Projects will involve hands-on welding and supervision of helpers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
