Technical Claim Handler

This is a role focused on technical claim handling for Chubb insureds nationwide. In this role, you will manage complex environmental liability claims, including first-party, third-party, and litigated pollution claims. This role requires accountability for the handling and disposition of claims, including investigation, coverage, reserves, negotiation, settlement, and trial strategies. Some travel will be required, as well as coordination and service of our internal and external business partners. You will represent the company at meetings with management and business partners, as well as at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes claim resolution strategies.
• Recognizes significant potential exposures on claims and prepares appropriate alerts to senior managers and internal business partners.
• Provides exceptional service to internal and external business partners.
• Analyzes and identifies coverage issues, prepares comprehensive position letters, and timely communicates coverage positions to appropriate parties.
• Directs and closely monitors cases with financial impact from inception through trial / resolution.
• Timely sets reserves within authority or initiates recommendations concerning reserves to management.
• Travels to conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as necessary. Estimated travel range of 10%, but this may vary as dictated by business needs.
• If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjuster's license and possibly additional state licensure.

Qualifications

The pay range for the role is $79,300 to $134,700. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
