• Advanced Skilled Trades Instructor, you will demonstrate through hands-on training and classroom instruction the proper technique, safety and detail which are essential skills of polished trades professionals. DOL-funded positions may be time-limited and contingent upon continued, sufficient funding.Apply by October 31, 2025ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Trades InstructionInstruct program participants in Advanced Trade Skills using approved HBI curriculumAssign blended learning training, including HBI Learning Management System, Google classroom, mind tap, and other related distance platformsDevelop training materials, lesson plans and hands on Career Technical Skills Training CTST) projects, as neededCoordinate hands-on training activities including on-site and community-based projectsDemonstrate proper tool and equipment use, with an emphasis on safetyProvides OSHA-30 training to studentsStudent Development and PlacementRecommends and assists students in job placement, working closely with team members in fulfilling placement and follow-up needs of programs as applicable with documentation and placing students in employment as required by contractual guidelines.Monitor, supervise and coach studentsMaintains cases notes on student behavior and progress, in accordance with contract requirementsFostering a positive working relationship with and between funders, program partners, and other personnelParticipates in outreach and recruitment strategies; recruits, screens, and selects the most appropriate students for the program to ensure contractual obligations are satisfiedClassroom ManagementComplete and submit various student and program-related reports and evaluations, as requiredPerform other administrative and reporting functions, as requiredCreates Purchase Orders and tracks spending while maintaining individual program budgetWORKING RELATIONSHIPS : Internal : HBI Executive Team, HBI Board of Trustees, and staff at all levelsExternal : Students, local home builders associations, industry partners, vendors, contractors, and businesses / potential employersREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Education / Certifications - High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training, skills, and experienceRequired Experience / Skills : A Minimum of five (5) years direct experiencein the applicable trade and / or teaching : BasicConstruction MathMeasurement and Blueprint ReadingHVAC FundamentalsExperience reading and drawing electrical schematics and ladder diagramsPreferred QualificationsExperience with MS Office suite, Data EntryTeaching in a classroom settingWORKING CONDITIONS : Usual office-type working conditions; routine physical conditions include walking, carrying, standing, hearing / listening, and sitting; nominal travel anticipated.HBI offers a competitive salary and benefits program.HBI is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
