The LTEL Instructional Design Team will play a key role in advancing intentional student-centered instruction by developing high-quality ESL materials and novel-based units that build strong literacy skills. Together we will create curriculum maps and lesson plans that integrate content and language using the WIDA 2020 Standards while applying research-based strategies to meet the needs of : The primary objective of the LTEL Instructional Design Team is to develop student-centered instructional materials that integrate content and language using the WIDA 2020 Standards while promoting research-based practices that accelerate academic language growth for Long-Term English Qualifications : Experience in effective ESL instruction in Grades 6-8Knowledge of Long-Term English LearnersExperience participating in steering committees writing WIDA-aligned curriculum and / or developing lesson plans with corresponding content and language to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all middle schools to ensure equitable access to high-quality curriculum and instruction and to meet to develop student centered lesson plans for team will be made up of 5 ESL teachers 1 English Langauge Acquisition Coach and 1 Administrator. Job Requirements : Participate in monthly after-school meetings to collaborate plan and share strategies that support Long-Term English Learners (LTELs).Engage in ongoing professional learning of research-based best practices for LTEL engaging instructional materials that promote language and literacy development for and provide constructive feedback on instructional materials including curriculum maps lesson plans and to the development of a districtwide resource bank that includes model lessons aligned content and language objectives proficiency-based scaffolds for LTELs and targeted instructional and maintain regular communication with the K8 Department Head of Bilingual Education Jennifer Dates : Virtual meetings to be held on Thursdays TBD exact dates once the committee is Source : 181 GrantCompensation : All participants will be compensated for their work in accordance with contractual guidelines.
