Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A challenging opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to contribute to a long-term care (LTC) mail order pharmacy environment. This role involves managing overnight shifts (9 pm to 8 am) on a 7-on, 7-off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance along with the potential for contract to hire placement.
Responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient compliance and medication over-usage, and ensuring all medicines supplied comply with legal standards. The pharmacist will maintain confidential patient records with accuracy and advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer medication-related questions. Additional services include consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol management, as well as instruction on medical device use such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
The role also encompasses compounding medications, preparing sterile solutions, and supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Maintaining proper inventory levels and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related issues are essential components of this position.
