Job Description :
- PURPOSE OF JOB : To perform Nuclear Medicine procedures / therapies on inpatient, outpatient and emergency room patients, utilizing clinical skills, knowledge and competencies of the Nuclear Medicine technologist position. Cover non-hospital location(s), actively participate in any and all departmental accreditation requirements, and maintain certification and all regulatory items as deemed necessary. Provide, seven day per week emergency nuclear medicine coverage. (Rotational). Provide and maintain radiation safety standards.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain certification and clinical competency in the Nuclear Medicine technologist position requirements.
- Provide patient care for all of our customers by performing NM procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Compile and maintain patient records and schedules.
- Order and record radioactive material.
- Deliver completed paperwork to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Perform all necessary Quality Assurance testing and maintain reports, imaging and documentation to maintain appropriate accreditation and / or departmental certification or licensure
Job Qualifications : QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Must be registered as an RT (N) / CNMT or Board eligible.Board eligible means : 1) completed a 2-year accredited nuclear medicine program and received notification from the Society that they are Board eligible, or 2) already have achieved an RT (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and subsequently have completed a one-year accredited nuclear medicine program.
Associates shall have one year from their hire date to pass a certifying exam.
Experience : Prior experience or training in the use of all nuclear medicine equipment including gamma camera, well counter, uptake probe, Geiger counter, PACs and teleradiology preferredOther Skills : Good communication and customer service skills.Current BLS certification.
Abililty to work individually and as part of a team
Good working knowledge of computer based EMR.
