Seeking individual with process and tooling troubleshooting experience in a plastic molding environment to join a company producing parts with tight tolerances, undercuts, thin walls, and government regulated quality requirements. Support the Product Development group through : Using mold-filling simulation software to evaluate and optimize new mold designs and evaluate issues with existing tooling. Calculating gate locations, clamp pressure requirements, injection speed, fill time, flow restrictions, shot size, injection pressure, pressure distribution, venting issues, temperatures, weld lines, etc. Analyzing packing, warpage, and cooling to predict and prevent distortions and sinks. Working with the product design team for manufacturability issues. Evaluating and advising machinists on mold and tooling fabrication. Requires experience with multi-cavity tooling, mold filling software, experience with plastics processing, knowledge of toolmaking, etc. Requires degree in engineering, mathematics, sciences, or related field. Total earning potential to $160,000 from start with competitive salary and excellent bonus.
