Job Summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting a passionate and talented senior Emergency Physician to serve as Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging . This position will serve as a core member on our department's leadership team, developing, implementing, and monitoring outcomes of strategies to enhance our departmental DEIB efforts, institutional including the recruitment, retention, and support of faculty.

The Emergency Medicine Physician directs emergency medical staff in an emergency department to optimize coordination of care between nurses, assistants, specialists, residents, and other medical staff.

Physicians at Denver Health are faculty members of the University of Colorado School of Medicine serve as teachers for students seeking clinical experience at Denver Health and provide education for post graduate medical trainees.

Essential Functions :

• Teaching and Training :

Instruct students seeking clinical experience at Denver Health and provide education for post graduate medical trainees. (20%)

Establish and communicate protocols to meet contractual, regulatory and accreditation requirements. (10%)

Oversee the activities of staff which includes but is not limited to sourcing, hiring, and training new team members, creating and managing schedules, evaluating performance, and providing coaching to engage and motivate team members, identifying and applying career advancement opportunities for team members, and helping to resolve employee issues and disputes, mentorship and guidance.
