Job Title : Prekindergarten Instructional Aide Wage / Hour Status : Non-Exempt

Supervises :

Primary Purpose : To assist the PK teacher in carrying out classroom responsibilities by supervising students and assisting with instruction.

Qualifications :

Education / Certification :

• Some experience working with children
• Associate's Degree, 48 semester hours, or pass Academic Assessment Test;
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program

Special Knowledge Skills :

Experience :

Experience working with children helpful, but not required

Major Responsibilities and Duties :

Supervisory Responsibilities : Assist the teacher with classroom control emphasizing courtesy and good manners. Assist with supervision of students on hall duty, cafeteria duty, and bus duty

Working Conditions :

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
