Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU / PCU position requiring ND or compact licensure and critical care skills including cardiac rhythm analysis.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Work in a combined PCU / ICU unit

Med / Surg / ICU with a 23-bed capacity

Patient population includes all ages requiring critical and progressive care

Nurse to patient ratio varies from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 depending on census and patient needs

Position requires 12-hour shifts on a rotating day / night schedule, including weekends

No floating to other units required

Utilizes Epic for electronic charting

Other equipment includes Omnicell, Liko and EZ lifts, Alaris IV pumps, and Nova Statstrip blood glucose devices

Responsibilities include providing comprehensive ICU-level nursing care, telemetry monitoring, dressing changes, ventilator and BIPAP management, and IV starts

Expected to coordinate patient and family teaching and provide leadership within the care team

Hospital and department orientation provided during the first week

Required to wear black scrubs in compliance with the department dress code

Active ND or compact RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum of 1 year recent ICU experience required

Completion of a basic cardiology class for nurses required

Experience with cardiac-related medications, rhythm analysis, and BIPAP patient care required
