The Patient First Receptionist is often the first point of contact for our patients at ChenMed. As a patient advocate, you will deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring that every interaction fosters trust and support. In this role, you will manage patient check-ins, check-outs, and provide essential administrative support, reporting to either an Assistant Center Manager or a Center Manager while collaborating with team leads.
Key Responsibilities :
- Welcome and assist patients during check-in and check-out, ensuring their needs are addressed.
- Utilize computer systems to manage patient information, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate records.
- Answer phones effectively, taking detailed messages and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide clear communication regarding ChenMed services and clinical personnel to patients.
- Verify patient insurance and collect co-pays as required.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit.
- Drive HEDIS initiatives by monitoring needed assessments for scheduled patients.
- Distribute customer service surveys post-visit and escalate concerns if immediate attention is needed.
- Engage in daily and weekly team huddles to discuss patient needs and updates.
Additional Duties :
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies.Review patient information for accuracy and completeness.Manage correspondence through mail, email, or fax as necessary.Undertake other related responsibilities as directed by management.Required Skills and Qualifications :
Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others.Familiarity with ChenMed's products and services.Proficiency in using standard office equipment and software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to communicate professionally with patients and team members.Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated listening skills and a positive, professional demeanor.Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally up to 5% of the time.Fluency in English, both spoken and written.Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent is required.At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar environment is necessary.Knowledge of medical insurance processes and / or electronic medical records is highly desirable.Compensation :
Hourly pay range is $13.90 - $19.83.
