Job Summary
The CT Imaging Specialist is tasked with performing CT exams following the guidelines set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and departmental protocols. This role requires a strong knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes, patient care, imaging techniques, radiation safety, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality scans for patients of all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric.Adhere to established scanning protocols and operational procedures.Efficiently operate the CT scanner and related equipment.Execute scans in a timely manner while effectively managing workflow to prioritize urgent requests.Demonstrate proficiency in managing trauma and complex cases, adjusting techniques as necessary.Utilize knowledge of disease processes to create studies that accurately depict relevant anatomy.Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate logs.Provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, physicians, and coworkers.Qualifications
Education :
Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.Completion of coursework in computed tomography and cross-sectional anatomy.Experience :
Required : One year of experience as a Radiology Tech in an acute care setting.Preferred : One year of experience performing CT procedures.Licenses & Certifications Required :
Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.Registered Radiology Technologist (R) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Advanced Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) required upon hire.Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.St. David's Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas, featuring over 300 beds and a comprehensive range of services, including a 24-hour emergency department, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and specialized institutes for cardiac and neurological care.
