Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00AM – 7 : 00PM)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2,130 - $2,190

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of cardiac stepdown or relevant nursing experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – American Heart Association

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to cardiac stepdown patients, including post-op CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery cases

Perform initial patient assessments and create individualized care plans

Implement and adjust nursing interventions based on ongoing patient evaluation

Maintain accurate documentation of clinical care and nursing procedures

Promote patient and employee safety by identifying and correcting hazards

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team

Participate in hourly rounding and proactively support patients and colleagues

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Meet all departmental and hospital competencies for cardiac stepdown nursing
