Accounting Specialist, Accounts Payable - Business & Finance

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Accounting Specialist to support the daily operations of the Business Office by serving as the lead liaison to assigned departments and sports programs. Assists in the reconciliation and reporting of financial data to include processing accounts payable transactions, vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and travel expenses. Manages team travel accounting for assigned sports, including cash advances, expense reconciliations, and journal entries. Ensures the accuracy of financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes. Responds to vendor and department inquiries regarding payment status, invoice issues, and account balances. Prepares and processes backup for check runs, and voids accounts payable checks and bills. Creates and participates in the management of new vendors and maintains the accuracy of current vendors. Responsible for department filing and accurate record keeping.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Required Qualifications :

High School diploma or equivalent

One year of related work experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• Two or more years related work experience
• Experience in an intercollegiate athletic environment
