R esident Assistant (RA)

The primary responsibility of the Resident Assistant position is to meet the daily personal care needs of residents with professionalism, dignity and respect following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and re gulations that govern assisted living communities. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Resident Care Duties :

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, bathing and dressing, as requested by residents or directed by supervisor.
• Attends to the personal care needs of residents in a timely manner .
• Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents' service plans.
• Document and report care provided and resident observations.
• Perform vital signs and heights and weights.
• Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
• Monitors the safety and well-being of residents.
• Reports changes in reside nt status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
• Provide information, encourage, and participate with residents in activity focused programs.
• May be asked to provide assistance to residents in Assisted Living and / or Memory Care.

SKIL LS & KNOWLEDGE :

EXPERIENCE :

6-months experience in a senior living community (preferred)

LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS :

Valid Adult Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Must possess sight / hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to fu nction adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Must be able to push, pull, move, and / or lift a minimum of 25# to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and / or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 f eet.

May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
