Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer with a focus on mechanical design, particularly in the domain of doors, including hinge and latch mechanisms. This role involves designing complex kinematic solutions in a conceptual environment and guiding engineers in structural design.

Responsibilities

• Design complex kinematic solutions and support design through trade studies, concept development, and interface development.
• Guide the definition of structural architecture by identifying and proposing advanced technology.
• Utilize extensive experience in space vehicle design to guide engineers.
• Create, manage, and run Global Finite Element Models (GFEM) for the stress team.
• Create and execute Detail Finite Element Models (DFEM) for testing.
• Work with composite primary and secondary structure design, and high-temperature material forming.
• Support conceptual design work by creating simple working Finite Element Models (FEM).

Work Environment

The position requires onsite work in a cleared facility, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role is part of a short-term contract lasting a minimum of six months, supporting a client onsite.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $95.00 / hr.
