Billing Specialist

We are looking for a Billing Specialist, who will be responsible for processing and delivering invoices to the customer as fast as possible with the highest level of accuracy to ensure the most expedited payment. You will collaborate with the Corporate Controller, fellow accounting team members, and others to help maintain the company's financial health. This is a fast paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company.

What you will be doing includes creating invoices for all jobs while following all company guidelines and processes, reviewing jobs for appropriate documentation, ensuring purchase order and approved contract amount match invoice, managing and following current pricing as well as special contract pricing, handling customer credits and invoice corrections, facilitating the collections process for overdue accounts, delivering superior customer service while responding timely to billing inquiries via phone and email, processing customer credit card payments, reporting work orders with discrepancies or missing required paperwork, maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer contact information, monitoring and maintaining customer portals for invoices in progress and acceptance of submitted invoices, and supporting integration activities including account and customer set-up.

Qualifications include 2 or more years relevant experience, ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated with good problem-solving and time management skills, highly organized with exceptional attention to details, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong numerical and analytical skills, data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and technology in general.

Ideal qualities include 3 5 years of billing experience in the fire and life safety industry and an associate degree in accounting.
