Head of Electrical Engineering - Aerospace

I’m partnering with an innovative, fast-growing company in the aerospace and advanced aviation sector that’s looking for a Head of Electrical Engineering to lead their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment and wants to take full ownership of electrical systems from concept through flight qualification.

This would be a full time, onsite position in El Segundo, CA, and you must be a US citizen due to ITAR compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the design and prototyping of new electrical hardware, including schematic creation, electrical analysis, component selection, de-rating, and PCBA layout.
• Own the electrical design lifecycle for flight hardware — from concept and prototyping through bench and functional testing.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and test teams to ensure new designs are practical, manufacturable, and optimized for production (DFM).
• Help define and refine company-wide electrical design processes, including PCBA layout standards, simulation tools, and PLM workflows.
• Contribute to organizational growth by identifying new technical opportunities, supporting subsidiary evaluations, and driving catalog expansion.
• Mentor junior engineers and play a key role in building and strengthening the avionics team.
