Description :

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physician with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures. Full-time position, hours vary from 30-40 per week. Full-time Hourly Position to start ASAP (4 days per week, Monday-Thursday).

Essential Job Functions :

• Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
• Perform preliminary physical tests : take blood pressure, weight and report patient history summary.
• Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, and completing diagnostic procedure coding.
• Uses recognized and accurate medical terminology and abbreviations for all medical documentation.
• Collects, labels, and sends specimens with appropriate laboratory slips and / or requisitions.
• Assists physician with in-office procedures limited to set up and breakdown of simple sterile procedures. Draping and prepping patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
• Performs cleaning / decontamination of equipment / materials and instruments.
• Checks inventories, restocks and replaces patient equipment and supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

Medical Assistant certification required.

2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient setting (OBGYN preferred).

Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.

Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Bilingual preferred.
