Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift Labor & Delivery assignment requiring strong L&D and triage experience, with a valid NC or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Assignment is at a hospital-based unit with 22 total beds including 6 Labor & Delivery, 7 GYN, and 7 Pediatrics
  • Unit averages 350 deliveries per year
  • Patient ratio ranges from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3
  • Shift is 12 hours, 7p-7a, with weekends as needed
  • Floating to other units is required
  • Potential for on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Patient population includes L&D, Mom / Baby, GYN, Pediatrics (newborn to adolescent), and MedSurg cases
  • Unit cares for a mix of laboring mothers, post-partum patients, gynecology, pediatric, and medical / surgical cases
  • Typical pediatric diagnoses include fractures, appendectomies, RSV, pneumonia, asthma, fever, suspected sepsis, and gastrointestinal issues with generally short hospital stays
  • Compliance documentation must be completed 7 business days prior to the start date
  • Experience as a first-time traveler is not accepted for this position

  • Active NC or compact RN license
  • Current certifications : BLS, NRP, and STABLE
  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience with a concentration in Labor & Delivery and triage
  • Must have completed at least one travel contract
  • Strong skills in L&D, Mom / Baby, triage, GYN, MedSurg, and Pediatrics
  • Epic EMR experience required
