Position Details
The Assistant Photographer provides photographic services, photography assistance, and general assignment photography for the Senate.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain daily schedule of photo assignments in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner.
Print publication quality black and white photographs for news releases, publications, and displays in a timely manner.
Operate and maintain black and white processing and printing facilities.
Maintain established indexing and filing system procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Photojournalism, Visual Communications, or related area of study.
OR
One (1) year of experience in documentary photography, public relations, portrait photography, photographic lab technology, or related.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in use of Adobe Photoshop.
Demonstrated ability to process and print publication quality black and white photographs.
Exercises good judgment in handling situations.
Ability to work long hours during Legislative Session.
Independently solves problems and is resourceful.
Accomplishes work to meet job requirements.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with Senate staff and co-workers.
Able to communicate effectively with Senate staff and co-workers.
Ability to be reliable and trustworthy.
Ability to perform work with minimal supervision.
