OVERVIEW
Merrick is hiring a Power Transmission Engineer / Technical Lead . This role can be located anywhere in the US, but ideally in the Southeast. You will have the opportunity to build and lead a transmission engineering team. The preferred candidate is a current electric transmission system engineer interested in an opportunity to build and lead a transmission engineering program at Merrick. The preferred candidate will be someone who appreciates the freedom and autonomy to make decisions and be a leader. This individual must have recent experience of performing transmission system engineering and preferably electric distribution engineering experience. This individual will help Merrick develop a transmission engineering program to service existing clients.
Annual salary range for this position is $125,400.00 - $162,300.00 . Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Create a power transmission engineering program and team at Merrick.
- Identify software and technical roles Merrick needs to acquire to begin executing. transmission engineering in Georgia on low voltage transmission line projects.
- Work closely with Merrick’s Atlanta transmission line mapping team. Learn about the team, clients and capabilities.
- Act as technical lead for transmission line engineering projects, helping perform the work and train the team on the process.
- Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
- Apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in support of participation on multi-disciplinary teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in either Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited programMinimum 8 years of electric transmission system experienceTransmission line design and engineering within the last 12 monthsTravel will fluctuate but must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% of the time to Georgia.PE License in Georgia or ability to receive via reciprocityPLS-CADD design and clearance assessment experienceExperience with AutoCAD based drawing generationProficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrierMust be eligible to work in the United States without SponsorshipDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
