Telecom / Network Engineer

We’re hiring a Telecom / Network Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Rochester, Minnesota with a leading healthcare organization known for its innovation and excellence in patient care and technology. This is a 6-month onsite contract opportunity with potential for extension.

You’ll join the Network Infrastructure team, where you’ll design, configure, and maintain telecom and network systems that support mission-critical operations.

Telecom / Network Engineer Responsibilities :

Design, configure, and support enterprise telecom and data network infrastructure.

Manage and troubleshoot network issues across routing, switching, and wireless systems.

Assist in the deployment of new network and telecom technologies.

Provide input on network architecture design and product selection.

Lead small projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Monitor network performance and ensure security and data integrity.

Document configurations and support ongoing network maintenance.

Telecom / Network Engineer Qualifications :

Strong understanding of telecom and networking concepts, including the 7-layer OSI model.

Experience with routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure.

Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.

Experience with network security tools (firewalls, VPN, NAC, ISE, DNS security) (preferred).

Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud networking (SASE) (preferred).

Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Splunk, Ansible, Python, or .NET (preferred).

Knowledge of Agile and / or Waterfall project methodologies (preferred).

Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher) (preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of professional technical experience; OR

Associate degree and 4+ years of technical experience; OR

6+ years of relevant technical experience without a degree.
