Job Description
We are seeking a senior Registered Dietician with research expertise to build and lead nutrition services within the Wellbeing Services program. This role provides direct patient care while simultaneously developing clinical protocols, research frameworks, and operational systems that define the service line. The position focuses on translating evidence into operational excellence through hands-on clinical work, rigorous research design, data analysis, and strategic program development. The ideal candidate combines deep nutrition science expertise with analytical thinking, systems design, and cross-functional collaboration to prove that lifestyle medicine delivers measurable outcomes at scale.
Scope of Work
Clinical Service Development & Patient Care
- Provide medical nutrition therapy to establish the clinical foundation for the nutrition service line within Wellbeing Services.
- Define service delivery models, workflows, and best practices through direct patient care experience.
- Develop collaborative care approaches that integrate nutrition services with physicians, health coaches, and behavioral health providers.
- Create scalable, replicable systems that enable the RD team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
- Identify opportunities to streamline services and improve patient outcomes through hands-on clinical insights.
- Build the clinical framework that supports sustainable growth of nutrition services and team expansion.
Research & Protocol Development
Develop evidence-based clinical protocols and standardized intervention frameworks for Wellbeing Services providers.Design research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition counseling, health coaching, and behavioral health interventions within Wellbeing Services.Conduct data analysis to validate health outcomes, clinical effectiveness, and program ROI for value-based care contracting.Translate peer-reviewed literature into evidence-based clinical guidelines and actionable protocols.Develop measurement frameworks that demonstrate impact on patient health, engagement, and healthcare utilization.Stay current with nutrition science and lifestyle medicine research to inform continuous program evolution.Clinical Workflows & Quality Systems
Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for nutrition counseling and clinical service delivery based on real-world clinical experience.Validate workflows for efficiency, clinical effectiveness, and scalability across multiple markets.Create quality standards and documentation requirements for registered dietitian services.Provide clinical guidance to support RD team growth and adherence to protocols.Design systems that support clinicians in delivering excellent care while maintaining operational efficiency.Product Development & Digital Health Integration
Collaborate with product and technology teams on Wellbeing Services platform development and enhancement.Conduct quality assurance testing for digital health tools and clinical features.Serve as subject matter expert on nutrition science throughout product design and implementation.Ensure digital solutions align with evidence-based best practices and clinical standards.Bridge clinical needs with technical capabilities to create user-friendly, scientifically sound tools.Strategic Projects & Resource Development
Lead specialized initiatives including recipe catalog development, patient education resources, and clinical toolkits.Manage research accounts when available, including protocol compliance, data management, and outcome tracking.Provide advanced administrative coordination for complex projects requiring organization, logistics, and strategic problem-solving.Develop curricula and educational materials for clinicians and patients.Solve operational challenges through analytical thinking and innovative systems design.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with clinical operations, product, marketing, and executive teams to advance Wellbeing Services strategy.Represent nutrition science expertise in strategic planning and decision-making.Communicate research findings and program outcomes to internal stakeholders and external partners.Contribute to payer presentations, white papers, and value-based care proposals with data-driven insights.The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 annually
Qualifications
Registered Dietitian (RD / RDN) with active state licensure where needed.Master's degree or higher in nutrition, public health, epidemiology, or related field.10+ years of progressive experience in clinical nutrition, with demonstrated expertise in research and program management.Strong background in research protocol design, data analysis, and statistical methods.Proven track record developing clinical workflows, SOPs, and quality improvement initiatives.Experience with value-based care models, outcome measurement, and healthcare data systems.Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and systems thinking.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for clinical, technical, and executive audiences.Self-directed and comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.Passion for advancing evidence-based lifestyle medicine and improving patient outcomes through innovation.Experience with digital health products, healthcare technology, peer-reviewed publications, and knowledge of regulatory compliance (HIPAA, IRB processes).For more information about Blue Zones Health , check us out at www.bluezoneshealth.com.
