The Employee Occupational Health Registered Nurse supports worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures while also promoting worker health, monitoring, and tracking the health status and well-being of employees, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace.
Major Duties :
- Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to employees and oversight of licensed vocational nurses / nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
- Support worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures while also promoting worker health, monitoring, and tracking the health status and well-being of employees, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace.
- Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and provide quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultations.
- Contribute to the development of care delivery models, participate in strategy planning, and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Provide peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
- Contribute professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
- Partner with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes.
- Support colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
- Share educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
- Question clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.
- Participate in activities and strategies to sustain an evidence-based-practice culture.
