The Equipment Specialist is responsible for coordinating and directing the most cost effective and efficient resources and services for Fleet Unit mechanical breakdown repairs and issue resolution. This task requires direct communications with Logistics Managers and Supervisors as well as Managers of Operations to ensure key data is obtained to effectively coordinate maintenance and service tasks per regulatory and business requirements as well as coordinate correction and repair of all mechanical issues for fleet units to ensure units are operating successfully to prevent any or prolonged lapse of operation / service / use.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to :
Coordinate vendor repairs for units with Logistics management and MO’s including securing best pricing on parts and labor, follow up on repairs and securing closest vendor to control and ensure shortest possible down time and longest possible windshield time of fleet unit. Proactively explore cost saving opportunities for A / C, mechanical repairs and any other mechanical repair, maintenance and / or service activities necessary to keep fleet units successfully operational.
Perform on-call duties required to ensure all scheduled units are set up and ready for daily scheduled service / operation. Monitor IST 24 hours a day
Keep up with unit / tractors preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure they are being completed regularly. Track tire casing credits and ensure field unit checks are being performed for repair and maintenance needs per the company requirements.
Participates in conference calls, follows up with customers as necessary
Responds to ESR and IST reports as necessary
Position Requirements :
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
Five (5) to eight (8) years experience with fleet and / or tractor mechanical / technical repair background or knowledge with a past history of using a logistics automated system. A high level of PC literacy is required. Must be able to handle extreme pressure and criticism with extensive dedication in role 24 / 7.

Physical Requirements :
This is a standard office environment and the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, radiation, blood / body fluids and infectious disease.
