Payroll Tax Associate

Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Tax Professional for an internal role with our firm on a project basis. This contract role is a fully remote position.

The Payroll Tax professional supports the payroll function, ensuring payroll taxes are processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Responsibilities

Implement, maintain, and review payroll tax processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll tax transactions within the Payroll system.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax updates including implementation of legislative changes, new hires, and employee state and local changes.

Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll tax transactions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, tax, and hour laws and best practices.

Qualifications

At least three years of progressive experience with US payroll (processing, validation, tax compliance, wage attachments, adjustments, year-end processing, periodic reporting, supplemental payrolls, etc.) required, with five or more years preferred.

Experience with U.S. tax processing and multistate is required.

Hands-on experience and demonstrated expertise in payroll systems required.

Qualified applicants must reside in the continental U.S.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
