TECHNICAL WRITER

Job Summary

Interface with company personnel to produce high-quality technical documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience. Coordinate generation of manuals with outside contract services and inside support personnel.

Follow established departmental procedures for generation and control of technical manuals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in hands on generation of technical documentation and perform technical writing duties as necessary for new product maintenance manuals consisting of installation, operation, troubleshooting, and illustrated parts breakdown sections
• Maintain / update established documentation
• Observe production, developmental and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail or standard practices
• Conduct interviews with production and technical staff to gather data for documentation
• Import Autocad drawings into maintenance manuals utilizing Adobe Illustrator
• Monitor and report status of work in process
• Other duties assigned

Required Skills and Experience

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to climb stairs, walk, sit, stand, file, keyboard for several hours consecutively, see, hear, and speak / understand English. This position works onsite.

Education Level Required

Associate degree or equivalent technical writing experience

Documented US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status
