Job Summary

The Ophthalmic Technician I will be responsible for conducting basic ophthalmic technical support activities that assist the ophthalmologists residents and optometrists in delivering care to patients in the outpatient eye clinic.

Essential Functions :

• Performs ocular examinations including history taking visual acuity ocular motility assessment intraocular pressure measurement lensometry and pupillary assessment. (65%)
• Performs visual field testing OCT pachymetry topography A-scan biometry and ocular photography. (10%)
• Performs refractometry and records findings accurately for provider review. (10%)
• Provides patient education on contact lens care glasses and medications. (5%)
• Responsible for stocking exam rooms and maintaining exam room equipment. (5%)
• Learns and performs fluorescein angiography cataract evaluations and pediatric eye assessments. (5%)
