The Director of Performance Nutrition Education is a 12-month position that includes an instructor role in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) in the area of sports nutrition. The position will also collaborate with the current Assistant Athletic Director for Performance Nutrition in the Department of Athletics for delivery of sports nutrition education to coaches and student-athletes and assist with clinical nutrition for Colorado State Universitys intercollegiate athletics program. Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in nutrition, health / exercise science or nutrition-related field
- Minimum of two years experience working with a sports nutrition program
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with active status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, Health and Performance staff, coaches, and academic staff regarding nutrition, research, and on-going situations or scenarios
- Expertise in current literature relating to sports nutrition for high-level or elite athletes
- Understanding and knowledge of nutritional and herbal supplements to determine if permissible under NCAA regulations
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse community of student-athletes and coaches
- Knowledge of NCAA rules / regulations
