Chief Operating Officer - CLT

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Chief Operating Officer who will provide executive oversight of all operational functions at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). This key leadership role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a seamless experience for millions of passengers each year. The COO is instrumental in driving CLT’s vision for efficiency, safety, and innovation across all facets of airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of airport operations, including security, safety, airfield, terminal, and emergency management.
• Establish departmental goals, policies, and priorities to advance operational performance.
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive peers to enhance capacity and optimize service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, and City of Charlotte regulations and policies.
• Maintain effective relationships with airlines, tenants, regulatory agencies, and public safety partners.
• Represent CLT with industry organizations such as AAAE and ACI-NA.

Salary & Compensation

The starting salary range for this position is $212,613 - $248,048 depending on experience. An exceptional candidate may be eligible to receive a starting salary slightly above range with approvals.
