Position Reporting To – Transportation Manager

Location : 5510 Holmes road Memphis TN (5-days in office)

Summary / Objective

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the transportation operations of the organization. This role involves coordinating schedules, routes, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services. The Transportation Coordinator will also maintain relationships with transportation vendors and customers to ensure the highest level of service is delivered.

Essential Functions

• Manage the execution of transportation’s day-to-day operations using transportation management system
• Monitor containers and coordinate with transportation vendors to secure capacity and ensure proper procedures are adhered to
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about shipment status
• Ability to identify exceptions and find solutions to potential delays
• Resolve and communicate operational issues preventing on-time delivery and empty container return
• Ensure all customer contacts and locations details are accurate and kept current.
• Monitor the container cycle from shipping to final empty container return.
• Maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors.
• Assist and participate in transportation related calls
• Ensure proper container allocation to transportation are followed
• Assist in other duties assigned

Team player who can work with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner. People oriented with the ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff, clients and vendors. Ability to interact with multiple levels of an organization. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to a high degree of accuracy, including consistent, timely and objective output.
